On March 10, 2025, representatives of InfoCons are also participating in the „Unwrapping the Plastics Crisis” Session of the Consumers International Summit, ahead of World Consumer Rights Day. Hosted on Zoom, this session marks the second Consumers International event of the week, bringing together key voices to address the global plastic crisis.
Discussions will highlight alarming statistics, such as the fact that individuals in Western Europe consume an average of 150kg of plastic per year—more than double the global average of 60kg. According to the UN Environment Programme, a combination of policy reforms and market shifts could reduce plastic pollution by up to 80%. This session will focus on the concrete actions needed to drive this transition toward a more sustainable, plastic-free future.
