Today, March 12, 2025, the representatives of InfoCons are attending the meeting on energy initiatives at the Consumers International Summit, organized on the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day.
Hosted on Zoom, this session – organized by Consumers International – will bring together leading voices to explore how consumer-centred energy initiatives are accelerating a fast, fair, and accountable transition.
Consumers play a crucial yet often overlooked role in driving the clean energy transition. Households alone account for approximately 20% of today’s energy investments. According to the IPCC, changes in consumer energy use—how we travel, eat, and power our homes—could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40-70% by 2050.
As we move toward a decentralized, renewable-based energy system, there is a unique opportunity to create a more inclusive and affordable future. This session will showcase innovative ways consumer-centred initiatives are leveraging consumer power to accelerate this transition. Experts will share insights on engaging consumers in clean energy—from shaping policy to implementing practical solutions.
