InfoCons Consumer Protection and the Financial Supervisory Authority Announce a Partnership for the Financial Education of Consumers of Non-Banking Financial Products and Services

Bucharest, March 14, 2025 – InfoCons – European Organization for Consumer Protection and the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) signed today a cooperation protocol to implement projects and educational programs, as well as initiatives with educational purposes. Through this collaboration, the two institutions are marking World Consumer Rights Day, celebrated annually on March 15.

The goal of this partnership is to enhance financial education in Romania, raise awareness, and inform the public about their rights, obligations, and the risks associated with non-banking financial products and services, while also improving financial inclusion.

Under the provisions of the protocol, specialists from ASF and InfoCons will be involved in identifying best practices and solutions for the protection of consumers of non-banking financial services.

The protocol was signed by Mr. Sorin Mierlea, President of InfoCons, and Mr. Gabriel-Ioan Avramescu, First Vice President of ASF.
