Japan, China, and the US had the largest representation among the top 100 filing entities, with 35, 21, and 19 companies, respectively. Outside the top 10, tech giants Apple and Google showed substantial gains, moving into the top 20 with 441 and 335 additional applications, respectively. A significant portion of the top 20 applicants were from the mobile phone and telecommunications sectors, underlining the industry’s commitment to continuous innovation.
