Meeting Agenda

Agenda

Welcome and Update on Enforcement Calendar

IP Crime in the Context of Serious and Organised Crime
A discussion on the treatment of IP crime across EU Member States, where it is considered a serious offence with penalties over four years in some countries, but not in others. The session will address:

  • The emergence of polycriminal networks engaged in multiple types of crime
  • The need for broader investigations and prosecution strategies
  • The potential for legal harmonisation across the EU

A panel of four experts will each highlight three key legislative or practical challenges in addressing serious and organised IP crime involving polycriminality. Participants will be invited to contribute to the discussion.

Single Contact Point – A Possible Way Forward
The EU Recommendation calls for Member States to designate a single point of contact for rights holders in IP enforcement matters. While seemingly straightforward, implementation may require significant coordination and resources. A proposed framework will be presented for discussion.
