“I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with ANEC in different roles over the years – first as a Hungarian consumer representative, and later as an expert on sharing economy. During this time, I’ve worked on everything from safer household appliances, through the surprisingly complex world of toy safety (encountering more rubber ducks than I care to admit) to short term accommodation rentals.
Through working groups, expert discussions, and the occasional meetings in lovely Brussels, I’ve had the chance to be part of something that really matters: making sure consumer interests are at the heart of European standards.
One project I’m especially proud of is the collaboration with The Hague University of Applied Sciences’ International and European Law Programme. Thanks to the Memorandum of Understanding between ANEC and the University, we’ve been able to help law students understand why standardisation is a powerful legal and societal tool. Bringing that into the classroom has been both meaningful and a lot of fun, which I am very grateful for.
Looking back, I’m proud to have been part of ANEC’s mission. It’s been a genuine privilege to work alongside so many passionate, committed people.
