In an increasingly interconnected world, where mobility and economic exchanges transcend national borders, consumer safety and protection are essential priorities. Quick access to accurate and up-to-date information is an indispensable tool for every citizen.

To meet these needs, the Global Consumer Protection App InfoCons now comes in a fully updated version, available in all 38 member countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The new interface is more intuitive, easier to use, and offers extended functionalities, accessible in 33 languages.

This digital solution provides users with useful information for personal safety and the protection of consumer rights, in a simple and efficient format. In the context of increasing international mobility, rapid access to useful data, including in emergency situations, becomes indispensable.

For the safe use of the InfoCons App, it integrates artificial intelligence elements for faster and more accurate recognition of information from labels, while blockchain technology, along with advanced cybersecurity measures, helps protect, secure, and ensure the transparency of displayed data.

Within the SOS section of the Global InfoCons App, consumers have access to emergency numbers from OECD member countries, as well as international ones. The SOS section of the InfoCons App can also be used offline, meaning emergency numbers can be dialed directly from the app without an internet connection.

In addition, the Global InfoCons App provides users with alerts about dangerous and non-compliant products, thus helping to prevent incidents and raise awareness among consumers and economic operators within the OECD area. The information is presented in a structured manner, ensuring direct and immediate access.

After updating the app, when a consumer scans the barcode of a non-food product, the message “This product is NOT in ALERTS” may appear. This message confirms that the respective product is not subject to any non-compliance alerts.
