Sorin Mierlea , President of InfoCons Consumer Protection , is participating in the Public Awareness Working Group Meeting of the EUIPO Observatory

Today, November 24, 2025, InfoCons, represented by Mr. Sorin Mierlea, the President of InfoCons, is attending the Working Group meeting on Public Awareness within the Observatory – European Office for Intellectual Property – EUIPO. The meeting, organized by EUIPO, is being held online and will cover various topics related to Intellectual Property.

InfoCons is an active member of the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) Observatory, playing a role e in the Civil Society Working Group within the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights. This involvement underscores InfoCons‘ commitment to addressing the challenges posed by intellectual property infringements across Europe.

At the national level, InfoCons has been a member since 2006 in the Working Group on Intellectual Property Issues under the coordination of the Prosecutor’s Office near the High Court of Cassation and Justice.

14:30–14:40 – Welcome and update on Observatory outreach activities
14:40–15:10 – Spring Campaign 2026

  • Presentation of ideas for the 2026 Spring Campaign concept and request for stakeholder input.

15:10–15:40 – Scaling up of the Authenticity Network

  • Stakeholders will present relevant national practices of the Authenticity Project, highlight the current state of play, showcase good practices and success stories.

  • Discussion led by EUIPO (Observatory and CPD) on new promotion opportunities and political visibility.

15:40–15:50 – Coffee Break

15:50–16:20 – AI Literacy Framework and intellectual property rights

  • Overview of the joint initiative by the European Commission and OECD, supported by Code.org and international experts including EUIPO.

  • The framework outlines key knowledge, skills and attitudes for young people to understand and interact with AI responsibly and critically.

  • It addresses ethical and societal implications and aims to support educators and public authorities.

  • Finalisation expected in early 2026 after broad stakeholder consultation.

16:20–16:50 – Outreach at 2025 Web Summit

  • Presentation of findings from the “Influencers and IP” study presented at Web Summit 2025 and lessons learned.

  • INPI Portugal shares outcomes of the side event “Content Creation and Intellectual Property in the Digital Age Meetup” held on 10 November 2025 in Lisbon.

  • Strategic approach toward influencers.
