Ms Sarah Smith, representing the UK Office for Product Safety and Standards – OPSS, delivered a speech during International Product Safety Week 2026, held from 7 to 10 September 2026 in Brussels.

Mr Sorin Mierlea, President of InfoCons, is attending the event, which marks 20 years of International Product Safety Week and international cooperation in the field of product safety.

Discussions highlight the role of public authorities and standards in preventing risks, identifying non-compliant products and ensuring a high level of protection for consumers, both in physical stores and online.
