The InfoCons Representative attends the “Bâkî – Sultan of Poets” event, held as part of the Bucharest International Poetry Festival
An InfoCons representative is participating in the conference and poetry recital entitled “Bâkî – Sultan of Poets”, organised by the Yunus Emre Institute and the National Museum of Romanian Literature as part of the 16th edition of the Bucharest International Poetry Festival.
The event marks the 500th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Bâkî, an anniversary included in UNESCO’s calendar of commemorations for 2026.
The conference presents the poet’s life, his relationship with Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, his poetic work, literary legacy and place in Turkish culture.
Bâkî is considered one of the most important representatives of 16th-century classical Ottoman poetry and is also known as the “Sultan of Poets”.
The event’s guest speaker is Prof. Dr Kudret Altun Taştekin, a member of the academic staff at Erciyes University. The conference and poetry recital are held in Turkish and Romanian, contributing to the promotion of intercultural dialogue and bringing the Turkish literary heritage closer to the public.
