Sorin Mierlea , President of InfoCons Consumer Protection , Attends the Consumer Policy Advisory Group – CPAG Meeting

Today, 22 October 2026, Sorin Mierlea, President of InfoCons, is attending the online meeting of the Consumer Policy Advisory Group – CPAG, taking place between 09:00 and 13:00.

The meeting is organised by the European Commission, through its Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers – DG JUST, and brings together representatives of consumer organisations, civil society, the business sector and European institutions.

The Consumer Policy Advisory Group is the European Commission’s main forum for consulting national and European stakeholders on consumer policy matters. The group brings together 42 members, with Romania represented by InfoCons.

Under a partnership model involving the European Commission, Member States and other relevant stakeholders, CPAG plays an advisory role by providing expertise on the implementation and monitoring of the European Consumer Agenda.

The group complements the work of other important bodies, including the Consumer Protection Cooperation Network – CPC and the Consumer Policy Network – CPN. CPAG succeeds the European Consumer Consultative Group – ECCG, whose mandate ended in July 2019.

The meeting is opened by Isabelle Pérignon, Director for Consumers at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers. Discussions focus on the latest developments in European consumer policy, the implementation of the 2030 Consumer Agenda, algorithmic pricing, consumer education, e-commerce from third countries and videogames.
