The InfoCons App combines 33 consumer-protection tools in a single application. One tool, installed once, supports your everyday choices — shopping, nutrition, product safety, and travel.

The app is developed independently and transparently by InfoCons, a non-governmental consumer-protection organization with no commercial ties to manufacturers. The same accurate information reaches every user, with no advertising and no brand favoritism.

It is available on iOS, Android, and Huawei (AppGallery), in 33 languages. A core set of features is free; full access is available through membership.

What the App does

Scanning and nutrition. Scan a food product’s barcode to see its additives (E-numbers) with plain-language explanations, its allergens, and its nutritional values — sugar, salt, and calories. If a product is not in the database, photograph the label and the app identifies the additives. Information appears in the language you choose.

Your own rules (“My Choice”). Set your limits for salt, sugar, and calories, the maximum number of additives you accept, and the E-numbers and allergens you want to avoid. Every scan that breaks one of your rules triggers a warning.

Scores and calculators. InfoScore gives a product an at-a-glance rating, Pro InfoScore goes deeper, and Eco InfoScore shows its environmental impact. Calculators translate label values into real figures for your portion — sugar, salt, calories, and additives — and an effort calculator shows how much walking, running, or cycling burns the calories consumed.

Alerts and safety. Check recalled, contaminated, or non-compliant products before you buy. Non-food alerts cover EU Member States and Türkiye as well as OECD member countries; you can enlarge alert images, search flagged products by keyword, and share alerts with others. Scan a non-food product’s barcode to see instantly whether it is the subject of a non-compliance alert.

SOS and emergencies. Useful and emergency numbers for Romania and for more than 100 countries, shown in English and the local language and dialed directly from the app.

Account, personalization, and dictionary. Create an account, choose your country and language, build a profile with a personal QR code, and generate up to three personalized QR codes whose scans you can track. A dictionary explains terms from consumer protection, the environment, finance and banking, labor, and energy in plain language.
