The European Cyber Resilience Act’s Journey – 2024 Cybersecurity Resilience & Market Conference

One of the main points of discussion during the panel was the CRA’s journey (conformity – compliance – cybersecurity). From the consumers` side, the discussions about this topic centered around how the alert system for non-compliant products has increased the safety of EU society in the last 5-10 years. An increase in safety comes from the fact that now access to European alerts for non-compliant products is more widely available, reaching various consumer groups. This broader access ensures more consumers are informed and protected.

Another discussion point regarding this topic was if products that are not cybersecure bring a risk to the safety of the Consumer, and in this case it’s important for consumers to know the cybersecurity status of products to assess potential risks to personal safety, privacy, and fundamental rights.

Alongside Mr. Sorin Mierlea , the panel included the following speakers:

InfoCons – European Organization for Consumer Protection and Promotion of Programs and Strategies , a full member of the World Organization Consumers International, founding member of the Federation of Consumer Associations, and member of ANEC.
