March 25th – The National Day of Greece

On March 25th, Greek citizens celebrate the National Day of Greece, also known as Greek Independence Day, a celebration of 203 years since they gained their independence.

On this occasion, the InfoCons App was developed by the InfoCons Association to support the all Greek citizens. The InfoCons App is designed for all Greek-speaking communities across Europe and is available in the Greek language to ensure that all citizens are aware of their rights and are directly informed in their native language – Greek.

  • Scanning QR codes from the energy labels of household appliances and other electronic devices;
  • Customizing the app for those with certain health problems and special dietary needs by setting the amount of salt, sugar, allergens, numeric and types of additives;
  • All useful and emergency numbers at Greek and international level;
  • Real-time alerts for food and non-food products at the European Union level;
  • Dictionary of terminology in the field of consumer protection, environment, financial banking, labor, insurance, energy, etc.;
  • 3 FREE customized QR codes through which the scanning traffic of the generated QR codes can be monitored and more.

The National Day of Greece, also known as Greek Independence Day, holds immense significance for the Greek people. It commemorates the nation’s declaration of independence from the Ottoman Empire on March 25, 1821.

In recent times, Greek Independence Day has become intertwined with a significant religious holiday in Greece, known as The Feast of Annunciation. Given that Independence Day coincides with the period of Lent, it offers the Greek populace a unique opportunity to commemorate and strengthen bonds with loved ones.
