By providing a framework for consistency, reliability, and transparency, they help ensure that systems function predictably and dependably. This consistency is key to fostering user confidence in digital technologies.

This year, the theme of World Standards Day was “Shared Vision for a Better World: Spotlight on SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure in the Age of AI”. SDG 9 focuses on strengthening infrastructure, fostering inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and driving innovation. The theme underscores the significance of standards in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in an era shaped by artificial intelligence. International Standards offer practical solutions that support our collective efforts toward peace, prosperity, and the well-being of both people and the planet.
