World Children’s Day ! The Right to Safety – Over 100 Alerts of Non-Compliant Products for Children in 2024 !

Every year, on November 20th, World Children’s Day is celebrated to mark the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) by the United Nations. This day is an opportunity to reflect on children’s rights, raise awareness about the challenges they face, and support actions that ensure every child can reach their full potential.

Established in 1954 as Universal Children’s Day, this day highlights key moments in history, including the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959 and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. Since 1990, World Children’s Day has also commemorated these two significant milestones, reaffirming the commitment to support the rights and well-being of children worldwide.

InfoCons, through the Free European InfoCons App, supports parents in protecting children from unsafe non-food products. This app provides immediate access to the European rapid alert system for non-food products such as toys, clothing, school supplies, and other items that may pose risks to children’s health and safety.

By using the European InfoCons App, parents can stay up-to-date with the latest information and warnings about products available on the market. Through daily updated non-food product alerts, parents can take preventive measures and make safer choices when purchasing items for their children.

With the help of the European InfoCons App, parents can have greater confidence that the products they purchase comply with European safety standards, thus protecting their children’s health and well-being. Through the app, available in 33 languages, consumers have direct access to alerts for both food and non-food products across the European Union!

By accessing the dedicated alert section, consumers can find the following information about non-food products:

  • Product name
  • Targeted country
  • Risk level
  • Product origin
  • Date the alert goes into effect

Using the European InfoCons App, consumers can quickly access alerts regarding non-food products in one place, without needing to go through a lengthy search process that often leads to wasted time or unsuccessful results. Alerts for non-food products in the European InfoCons App are organized chronologically, allowing consumers to see the most recent alert first, giving them timely and relevant information in real-time. Additionally, parents can search different product categories by entering keywords in the Alert section’s search button.

Attention! Before making a purchase, access the European InfoCons App to ensure that the products have not been or are not subject to alerts for non-food products issued by the European Union. Since the beginning of 2024, 100 alerts have been identified for non-compliant products for children!

This year’s theme for World Children’s Day is “Listen to the Future,” emphasizing the importance of listening to children’s voices—giving them a platform to share their hopes, dreams, and vision for the world they want to live in. Children should be encouraged to express their views about the future, and it is our responsibility to listen and support their vision.

Listening to children is important because it boosts their self-confidence and self-esteem, making them feel valued and respected. It also promotes critical thinking, encouraging them to solve problems and understand their role in the world. Engaging with their ideas fosters creativity, allowing them to tackle challenges with innovative solutions. Moreover, open communication strengthens relationships, building trust and deeper connections, especially between parents and children.

World Children’s Day is not just a day for reflection but also for action. This day invites everyone to be part of creating a world where children’s voices are heard, and their rights are respected. This celebration reminds us that the future is shaped by today’s children. To build a better world tomorrow, we must listen to their voices, support their ideas, and empower them to be the change-makers of the future.
