
Today, on March 10, 2025, representatives of InfoCons are participating in the Opening Session of the Consumers International Summit, ahead of World Consumer Rights Day. Hosted on the Zoom platform, this session marks the first of 18 discussions scheduled for the week.
The opening session will focus on what a just transition to sustainable lifestyles means for consumers around the world. The members of consumer protection organizations worldwide will reflect on why accessibility, availability and affordability are key drivers to help us live more sustainably.

Some of the important discussion planned start with how over 94% of consumers are in favour of a shift to more sustainable lifestyles, but more than 80% say they need stronger support from government and business to make this transformation possible. How do we take action to not only protect our planet, but to strengthen our access to essential consumer rights and needs?
Organized by Consumers International, the session will explore what a just transition to sustainable lifestyles means for consumers worldwide. Consumer protection organizations from around the globe will examine how accessibility, availability, and affordability play a crucial role in helping people adopt more sustainable ways of living.
Key topics include the growing consumer demand for sustainability—94% of consumers support a shift toward more sustainable lifestyles, yet over 80% say they need greater support from governments and businesses to make this transition feasible. How can we drive action that not only protects our planet but also strengthens consumer rights and access to essential resources?
