During today’s meeting, April 14, 2025, of the Public Awareness Working Group within the Observatory – European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) – the results of the European A.C.T.I.V.E. Project, developed and implemented by InfoCons, were presented.
InfoCons launched the A.C.T.I.V.E. project in 2023, an initiative that actively promotes the protection of intellectual property. The main objectives of this project are to increase awareness among European youth about the importance of protecting intellectual property rights and the negative effects of infringing those rights, to reduce the consumption of counterfeit goods and digital content from illegal sources, and to encourage the younger generation to actively engage in safeguarding intellectual property rights.

InfoCons is an active member of the EUIPO Observatory (European Union Intellectual Property Office), playing a key role in the Civil Society Working Group of the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights. This involvement highlights InfoCons’ strong commitment to addressing the challenges posed by intellectual property rights violations across Europe.
Since its founding, InfoCons has been consistently dedicated to educating and protecting consumers against the dangers associated with counterfeit products. These counterfeit goods, often of inferior and unsafe quality, can pose significant health and safety risks to consumers.

To counter this, InfoCons has organized and carried out numerous awareness campaigns over the years. These initiatives have been crucial in educating the public on how to identify counterfeit goods and in raising awareness about the broader implications of purchasing and using such products – ranging from economic losses to supporting criminal activities.
Between April 14–16, 2025, Sorin Mierlea, President of InfoCons , is participating in the EUIPO Observatory Working Group meetings, held in Alicante, Spain.
