InfoCons Consumer Protection and the Intelligent Energy Association Announce a Strategic Partnership to Protect Energy Consumers
Bucharest, June 19, 2025 – InfoCons – the European Organization for Consumer Protection, represented by President Mr. Sorin Mierlea, announces the signing of a collaboration protocol with the Intelligent Energy Association, represented by President Ms. Monica David. The partnership aims to develop joint initiatives to inform and educate consumers in the energy sector.
The partnership seeks to raise awareness among consumers about the importance of knowing their rights and responsibilities in relation to energy suppliers and operators, in a context where transparency, access to information, and trust in involved institutions are essential. Focus areas include awareness campaigns, specialized courses, useful guides, digital platforms, databases with essential information, and other joint projects.
The partnership between InfoCons and the Intelligent Energy Association addresses a real need for support and guidance for energy consumers in a sector that is continuously evolving and marked by technological, economic, and legislative challenges. The collaboration also aims to mutually promote the initiatives of both organizations and to strengthen a real support network for consumers in Romania.
InfoCons – European Organization for Consumer Protection – was founded in 2003 to meet the needs of consumers. Since then, it has carried out uninterrupted activity, gaining both national and international recognition. It is a member of various organizations, advisory committees of authorities, working groups, and a partner in national and international programs. InfoCons is the only organization in Romania with full membership in Consumers International and a founding member of the Federation of Consumer Associations.

The Intelligent Energy Association (AEI) is a Romanian organization dedicated to promoting energy efficiency, sustainability, and transparency in the energy sector. Founded in 2016, AEI fights energy poverty, supports the transition to green energy, and educates the public about consumer rights. Through analyses and projects, it provides relevant information at the European level and advocates for Romania’s interests in aligning with EU policies, adapted to the national context.
