Sorin Mierlea , President of InfoCons , is participating in the BEUC – ANEC webinar taking place online today, July 10th. The event focuses on the introduction of instant payments, the implementation of the Verification of Payee (VoP) system, and how these innovations function in practice.
Starting October 9th, 2025, banks will be required to provide instant credit transfers, meaning that funds will reach the recipient’s account within seconds instead of days. To ensure the security of these transactions, banks will also need to implement the Verification of Payee system, which checks that the IBAN corresponds with the intended recipient’s name.
