InfoCons – Consumer Protection now represents the interests of consumers in the World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO / Organisation mondiale de la propriété intellectuelle OMPI
We are proud to announce that Romania is represented for the first time in the Global Intellectual Property Forum – WIPO – through the Consumer Protection organization InfoCons. InfoCons has become an observer member in the Assemblies of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), at meetings held at WIPO headquarters in Geneva, from July 8 to 17, 2025.

This official recognition places Romania on the global map of organizations contributing to international dialogue on intellectual property, through the only consumer protection organization in the country accredited in this international forum.
As one of the 387 accredited observer members of WIPO – the World Intellectual Property Organization (these members include intergovernmental organizations in the field of intellectual property, regional intergovernmental organizations, global intergovernmental organizations, UN system agencies, as well as international and national NGOs) – InfoCons will be invited to participate in all WIPO Assembly meetings, as well as in permanent committee meetings or other organizational committees, whenever the topics are of direct interest to the organization.
This unique position gives us the opportunity to influence, learn, and contribute to decisions of global importance, strengthening Romania’s voice in the field of intellectual property.

This ongoing involvement emphasizes InfoCons’ commitment to actively addressing challenges posed by intellectual property rights violations across Europe, protecting consumer interests, and supporting the development of a safe and fair environment for all market products and services.
