On the occasion of the International “One Health” Day, celebrated annually on November 3rd, InfoCons provides consumers with the Global Consumer Protection Application “One Health”, unique in its integrated approach to health and environmental protection — a digital passport for the modern consumer.

The Global InfoCons Application is a free and easy-to-use tool, available in 33 languages, and can be downloaded from the App Store, Google Play, and App Gallery. Through this app, consumers can make informed choices, having access to relevant information about food products: scanning barcodes to identify ingredients, the number and types of food additives, allergens, as well as the content of sugar, salt, and calories.

The application also allows customization according to each user’s needs, offering the possibility to set specific limits for certain substances or allergens, depending on health conditions or dietary requirements. In addition, the app provides real-time alerts regarding food and non-food products that have been withdrawn or flagged at the European Union level.

In the context of international commitments on sustainability and reducing environmental impact, InfoCons conducted a study on actions and activities related to decarbonization and carbon footprint implemented by local public administration authorities in Romania. The results reveal a low level of involvement in these essential areas for environmental and community health:

  • 68.89% of county capital city halls have not developed a decarbonization strategy;

  • 88.37% of county capital city halls do not hold carbon footprint certifications;

  • 95.75% of municipal city halls have not developed a decarbonization strategy;

  • 97.87% of municipal city halls do not hold carbon footprint certifications;

  • 98.91% of commune city halls have not developed a decarbonization strategy;

  • 99.72% of administrative-territorial units at commune level do not hold carbon footprint certifications.

The study also shows that no County Council in Romania has developed a decarbonization strategy or holds carbon footprint certifications.

These data show that, despite the declared concern for environmental protection and the transition toward a green economy, there is still a significant gap between intentions and concrete administrative actions.
