InfoCons conducted a study based on the information found on the labels of non-alcoholic beer products available on the European market, sold in can packaging. For this study, 32 non-alcoholic beer products available on the Romanian market were analyzed.

InfoCons Consumer Protection informs you that, from the perspective of food additives found in canned non-alcoholic beer products:
- 1% of canned non-alcoholic beer products contain food additives (E-numbers).
The number of food additives (E-numbers) in canned non-alcoholic beer products ranges between 0 and 6, as follows:
- 5% of products contain 6 E-numbers;
- 25% of products contain 5 E-numbers;
- 5% of products contain 2 E-numbers;
- 25% of products contain 1 E-number.

Frequently Found Food Additives in Canned Non-Alcoholic Beer
From the perspective of frequently identified food additives, the situation is as follows:
- 41% of the analyzed products contain Ascorbic Acid (E300)
Food additive from the antioxidant category, naturally found in fruits and vegetables and known as Vitamin C. Although ascorbic acid plays an essential role in biochemical processes in the human body, the additive E300 cannot replace this natural function. - 76% contain Citric Acid (E330)
An acidity regulator and flavoring agent that enhances the effect of antioxidants and gelling agents. - 53% contain Steviol Glycosides (E960a)
A natural, non-caloric sweetener extracted from the Stevia rebaudiana plant, authorised in the EU since 2012. - 76% contain Carob Seed Gum (E410)

A synthetic sweetener approximately 200 times sweeter than sugar, calorie-free, and stable at high temperatures. Although considered safe by international bodies, it may stimulate insulin secretion, potentially triggering hunger sensations. - 53% contain Sucralose (E955)
A high-intensity sweetener, about 600 times sweeter than sugar, extremely stable and calorie-free. - 53% contain Acacia Gum (E414)
A natural emulsifier and stabilizer obtained from Acacia senegal.
