The InfoCons Consumer Protection App provides consumers with a section dedicated to food and non-food safety alerts at the European Union level.
Alerts are updated as they appear and are displayed in Romanian and English, mentioning the affected countries. For each food safety alert, the level of risk is specified: low, undetermined, up to serious. In this way, consumers are warned in a timely manner and can take action. Products subject to rapid alerts for food and non-food items can thus be avoided by consumers, preventing many problems in advance.
Another important feature of the App is the SOS section, available even in offline mode, without requiring an internet connection. Through this functionality, consumers can access both national and international emergency numbers and call them directly, free of additional charges, using the InfoCons App. This option is extremely useful in situations where internet access is limited or unavailable, whether due to high costs or the lack of a functional network.
The SOS section within the European InfoCons App includes over 2,200 emergency numbers, ensuring quick access to institutions responsible for managing various critical situations. These include:
- The 112 emergency service, for situations requiring immediate intervention;
- Consumer Protection authorities, where you can request assistance if you encounter problems with purchased products or services;
- The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority, available for reporting food safety concerns;
- Contact numbers for county-level institutions, such as City Hall, Local Police, Environmental Guard, Environmental Protection Agency, Veterinary Sanitary Directorate, Romanian Auto Registry, Territorial Labor Inspectorate, and the Public Health Directorate.
