On Global Recycling Day 2026, choose to responsibly recycle your electronic and household appliances with the help of the InfoCons European Consumer Protection App !
Global Recycling Day, marked annually on March 18, represents an important moment to raise awareness about the impact our actions have on the environment. Recycling is one of the most effective ways we can protect the planet: it helps conserve resources, reduces pollution, and supports job creation.
In the context of the circular economy, recycling becomes an essential element in protecting natural resources. Each year, this “seventh resource” (recycled materials) helps save over 700 million tons of CO₂ emissions, with estimates showing that this figure could reach 1 billion tons by 2030.
Thus, recycling stands at the forefront of global efforts to protect the future of the planet and humanity.

Use the InfoCons European App to recycle electronic and household appliances on Global Recycling Day!
On the occasion of Global Recycling Day, InfoCons provides consumers with the free InfoCons European App. Through this app, consumers can scan QR codes on energy efficiency labels to find out which centers they can use to recycle electronic and household appliances.
The InfoCons European App facilitates the recycling process of electronic and household appliances by providing consumers with the following information:
-
a complete list of recyclable material collection points, indicating the nearest center to the user’s location;
-
updated information about each collection point, including essential details about the types of recyclable materials accepted at each location.
After scanning the QR code on the energy efficiency label of an electrical or household appliance, the consumer has the option to choose the nearest center to their location, regardless of the county they are in. The app will then guide the user to an interactive city map, where they can view the selected center and how to get there.

Recycling through the InfoCons European App is an important step in protecting the environment. By reducing the amount of waste that ends up in landfills, you contribute to conserving natural resources and reducing the negative impact on the environment.
Initiated in 2018 by the Global Recycling Foundation, Global Recycling Day aims to promote the essential role of recycling in conserving primary resources. In addition to the six fundamental natural resources – water, air, coal, oil, gas, and minerals – recycling highlights an equally valuable resource: reusable materials.
By reusing and recycling materials, we reduce pressure on natural resources, save energy, and actively contribute to environmental protection. This day reminds us that recycling is not just an individual or local responsibility, but a collective global effort.
