Sorin Mierlea , President of InfoCons Consumer Protection , is Participating in the Economic Mission of La Francophonie in Central and Eastern Europe
Mr. Sorin Mierlea, President of InfoCons, is participating in the Economic Mission of La Francophonie in Central and Eastern Europe, taking place in Bucharest on 10–11 June 2026. The event brings together representatives of the business community, public institutions, Francophone economic networks, and professional organizations, with the objective of strengthening economic cooperation and fostering sustainable partnerships between Romanian companies and economic stakeholders from the Francophone world.
The mission provides participants with opportunities to identify new avenues for collaboration and to access the European Union’s single market through Romania, which serves as a strategic gateway to Central and Eastern Europe. The event also facilitates targeted networking sessions, bringing together companies active in technology, healthcare, cybersecurity, research, and innovation, alongside public institutions and relevant professional organizations.
Particular attention is given to the healthcare and digital services sectors, two areas experiencing significant growth in Romania. The Romanian pharmaceutical market, valued at more than €6 billion, benefits from substantial investments and continuously modernized infrastructure, supported in part by European funding. At the same time, Romania has strengthened its position as a regional technology hub, hosting one of the largest pools of IT professionals in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the headquarters of the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC).
InfoCons’ participation in this economic mission reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote international cooperation, innovation, and dialogue between institutional and business stakeholders. Through its involvement in international projects and events, InfoCons continues to encourage the exchange of expertise, the dissemination of best practices, and the development of partnerships that generate tangible benefits for both consumers and sustainable economic growth.
