Your vacation starts with the security of your data

Before any trip, you gather everything that matters: clothes, passport, charger. But your phone is already in your hand — and with it, you’re carrying your bank accounts, passwords, photos, emails — your entire digital life.

On vacation you’re relaxed, but that’s precisely when the risks of a cyberattack increase.

Before you leave, do four simple things: back up all your important information, update your apps, change old passwords, and enable two-factor authentication. You do it once, it takes a few minutes, and you’ll have peace of mind throughout your entire holiday.

On the road, treat public Wi-Fi with caution. Networks in hotels, cafés, and airports can hide attackers, and an experienced hacker can intercept your data in minutes — without leaving a trace.

Use a VPN, avoid making payments on unsecured networks, disable automatic connections, and keep your phone locked with a PIN or biometric authentication.

On social media, don’t post your location in real time and don’t announce that you’re away. You’re protecting yourself and the people close to you.

When you return, set aside ten minutes: check your bank statements, change any passwords you used on vacation, and disconnect unknown devices from your accounts.

A successful vacation is one where you come home with your memories and your personal data  intact.
