Food additive in the category of syntetic colorants, obtained from coal tar. It gives a green color and it is allowed to be used in any type of food. This soluble in water colorant is insoluble in acid or alkaline solutions is forbidden in USA, Canada, Japan and Norway, being considered toxic. It is used on its own or in combination with other colorants in a wide range of products, such as: alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, preserved products from fruits and vegetables, fat-based desserts, fruits or milk, cakes, biscuits (cookies), wafers, snacks, confectionery products, canned fish and fish dishes, melted cheese, sauces, spices, mustard, food supplements and dietetic foods etc.
