InfoCons Representatives Attend the Final Event of the European CoRe – Consumer (Re)Generation Project at the European Parliament

Representatives of InfoCons are attending today, 14 October 2026, as partners of the European CoRe – Consumer (Re)Generation project, its final event entitled “Consumer Education in School Curricula – Challenges, Lessons Learned and Policy Recommendations from the CoRe Project.”

The event takes place from 11:00 to 13:00 in Room 1H1 of the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, and is hosted by Italian Member of the European Parliament Denis Nesci, a member of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group – ECR.

The European CoRe – Consumer (Re)Generation project is promoted by Cittadinanzattiva APS from Italy, in partnership with the Union of Working Consumers of Greece – EEKE and InfoCons – Romania, with the support of iliad and co-funded by the European Union through the Single Market Programme.

The event brings together representatives of the partner organisations, European institutions and consumer protection organisations, as well as teachers and students involved in the project’s activities.

During the meeting, the position paper “Consumer Education in School Curricula: Challenges, Lessons Learned and Policy Recommendations from the CoRe Project” will be presented. The document brings together the main results, conclusions and lessons learned from the pilot activities carried out within the project.

The pilot programme involved 16 schools, 35 classes, 667 students, 36 teachers and 583 parents across seven Italian regions. Its activities aimed to develop the knowledge and skills young people need to become informed and responsible consumers who understand and are able to exercise their rights.

The event provides a framework for discussing the opportunities and challenges associated with integrating consumer rights education into school curricula. It will also put forward concrete policy recommendations for strengthening consumer education among younger generations in a context shaped by the rapid development of the digital environment and the risks to which minors may be exposed online.

InfoCons’ participation as a partner of the CoRe project continues the organisation’s efforts to promote consumer education, ensure that citizens have access to accurate information and foster a culture based on responsibility, prevention and awareness of fundamental rights.
