Mr Sorin Mierlea, President of InfoCons, spoke during the events organised in Brussels as part of International Product Safety Week 2026, taking place from 7 to 10 September.
In his remarks, he presented the InfoCons European Consumer Protection App, available in 33 languages, and its role as a tool for informing and protecting consumers.
Through the Alerts section, consumers can use their phones to check whether non-food products are or have been subject to product safety Alerts. Users can access information including the product name and image, country of origin, type of risk and risk level.
The InfoCons App serves as a Global Consumer Protection Passport, bringing useful consumer information together in a single tool to support consumers across borders and languages.
