A recent report from the World Health Organization and UN Children’s Fund reveals that about one in seven children and adolescents aged 10 to 19 are living with mental health conditions, with anxiety, depression, and behavioral disorders being the most prevalent.
Moreover, one-third of these conditions manifest before the age of 14, and half appear by the age of 18. This highlights the importance of early detection and support to prevent long-term negative impacts on a young person’s development and well-being.
On World Mental Health Day, observed annually on October 10, the critical need for early intervention to help children and young people reach their full potential is emphasized.
