e400 Alginic Acid

Food additive with emulsifying, stabilizing, thickening and caking role. It is a natural product obtained from several brown algae. It is used in the quantities according to the recipes in all dairy products, in sweets, creams, emulsified fat spreads with or without flavors, sauces, ice creams, processed and preserved fruits and vegetables, meat products etc. Alginates are allowed in preparations for infants and young children, but only in puddings and desserts based on processed cereals. It is also used as a substance-support for other food additives.
