The Milano Cortina 2026 Closing Ceremony will take place on Sunday, 22 February 2026, beginning at 20:00 local time (CET).
Venue
The Ceremony will be held at the Verona Olympic Arena (Arena di Verona), one of Italy’s most renowned landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Built in the 1st century AD and even older than the Colosseum, the Roman amphitheatre is internationally recognised for its summer opera festival and for hosting major concerts and cultural events. In addition to staging the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games, the Verona Olympic Arena will also host the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games on 6 March 2026.
A Historic Setting for a Global Finale
On 22 February 2026, the Verona Arena will provide an exceptional backdrop for the final act of the Games. Conceived by Filmmaster and broadcast worldwide, the Ceremony will combine music, artistic performances and the spirit of sport, celebrating unity and the bonds created between athletes and nations.
The event will honour all participants and will include the traditional handover ceremony, marking both the conclusion of Milano Cortina 2026 and the continuation of the Olympic Movement.
The selection of the Verona Arena reflects Italy’s rich cultural heritage, offering a symbolic meeting point between history and the future of international sport.
A Celebration of Italian Creativity and Inclusion
Through music, storytelling and artistic expression, the Ceremony will highlight Italy’s creativity, innovation and cultural identity. Beyond athletic achievements, the evening will celebrate the host country’s heritage and contemporary spirit.
